Alabama woman charged with threatening to shoot Trump
An Alabama woman has been charged with threatening to shoot President Trump if he attended a college football game, according to federal prosecutors.
Megan Lorraine Utz, 36, of Courtland, Alabama, faces a two-count indictment charging threats against the president and interstate transmission of threatening communication, [according](https://www.justice.gov/usao-ndal/pr/lauderdale-county-woman-charged-making-threats-against-president-united-states) to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Alabama.
The suspect allegedly made the threat on Facebook on October 5 in a post about Trump attending the Alabama-Georgia football game scheduled for October 10 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
“I’ll put a bullet through him if he dares,” the post said, according to the indictment and complaint.
FBI agents, Secret Service agents and Florence police located the suspect in Florence, Alabama, on October 6, the day after the post. Florence police arrested her on an active misdemeanor warrant for harassing communications issued by the Guin Police Department.
The arrest was made under that warrant, rather than the federal charges involving the threat against Trump.
The FBI and Secret Service investigated the case alongside the Florence and Guin police departments.
